From 20 to 21 June 2018 a national conference “On the way to nearly zero energy buildings — was held in Burgas: challenges and opportunities”. The event was from the official programme of the Bulgarian EU Presidency. The organisers were the Ministry of Energy with the financial support of the Financial Mechanism on the European Economic Area (EEA), the Municipal Energy Efficiency Network, Burgas Municipality and Center for Energy Efficiency Eneffect.
Within the conference were present successful practices under the FM of the EEA with implemented projects from the municipalities Burgas and Sofia and the achieved results in the implementation of the two stages of the project “Energy Efficiency of Central Heating of Three Municipal Educational Buildings in City of Burgas, Meden Rudnik Residential Area”
At the Conference was signed by the Deputy Minister of Energy, Mr Zecho Stankov, the EEA Financial Mechanism Agreement, implementing the ‘Renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy security’ programme. This programme will fund energy efficiency related activities, exploit renewable energy potential with a particular focus on hydropower and geothermal energy.
